Called To Serve

Service. It's a great thing... looking outside of yourself and doing for others. Well, it looks like that's what my hubby will be doing more actively for a while. Today he was called to be the 1st Counselor in the Bishopric of our ward. For those of you not familiar with our church, that means he will be like an assistant pastor in our church congregation. Jaime is very humbled by this calling, it never occurred to him, nor me that he would be called to serve in that capacity. Our church is unique in the way people come to do certain jobs in the church. Through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, just ordinary people are asked to serve in a specific job, no one is paid and no one ever applies or asks for the job. It is truly a humbling experience. Many times you are asked to do something that you feel you have no skills or experience to offer to accomplish the work. But by faith somehow the Lord helps you do all that is needed. God is great - HE SURE IS !
